When you close your eyes and imagine a conventional pendant cluster, Focus 4 Pendant is hardly the first thing that comes to mind. With its creative constellation of innovative and forward-thinking design, the pendant marks a breakthrough in modern lighting. This fascinating display of aesthetics and beauty in applied art and interior design is a collaboration between Japanese designer
Yuji Okitsu and French design company
DCW éditions. With a background in modern architecture, Okitsu crosses the boundaries of different art forms through his work. This interdisciplinary approach is clearly reflected in the Fokus 4 Pendant, where not only form and function are taken into account, but also the overall interaction between lamp and space.
The pendant consists of a cluster of four differently sized light sources attached to the frame in an imitation of the classic mobile. This creates a slight shifting of the light sources so that the light has a larger area to spread out over and adds a dynamic element to the lamp as both the frame and light sources rotate. Each of the light sources is made of acrylic glass and mirror-like when switched off. However, when the lamp is turned on, the built-in LEDs light up along the edge of each disc in a beautiful, atmospheric light that gives the light sources an almost planetary feel. The light shines out through the clear glass and is transmitted to the room in a soft and sparkling glow that catches the eye at first glance. With Focus 4 Pendant, you are guaranteed a fascinating and captivating light source that attracts the interest of everyone around you. The pendant is therefore perfect for visible areas where both residents and visitors can enjoy the aesthetic design.
Focus 4 Pendant is available with both black and white suspension.
