For over 60 years, the iconic
Kubus candle holder has stood as an example of the potential of the Danish design tradition. The Kubus series traces its roots back to the 1960s, when the first candle holder in black lacquered metal was designed by Danish architect
Mogens Lassen back in 1962. Lassen, who was inspired by cubism and the Bauhaus movement, is one of the biggest Danish names in Scandinavian functionalism. However, it wasn't until the 1980s that the candlestick was put into industrial production and thus became known in wider circles. It was Mogens Lassen's grandson, Søren Lassen, who put the staircase into production. He was in no doubt about the potential of the candlestick in the market - and it's fair to say he was right. Since then, the collection of Kubus designs has grown to include many different variations of the iconic design, keeping the proud traditions alive and well. The Kubus range consists primarily of candle holders but also includes vases and other home accessories, all of which share the same graphic design with straight lines and right angles that make them highly recognizable and easy to combine. You can find the entire Kubus series

Now Audo Copenhagen is reintroducing the well-known classic in new color variants that have been carefully selected to preserve and highlight the stylish expression of the candle holder and to harmonize with the original design. The original Kubus 4 Candle Holder therefore comes in the colors
Ivory, Olive and
Zinc, while the Kubus Line Candle Holder, an extension of the Kubus designed by Lassen in 1983, is now available in
black, white and
brass. See all the new beautiful variants of the candle holder
