Since the lamp was designed and created in 1969,
Globen has been one of the most significant achievements of Danish design. The head of the inimitable lamp is the iconic Danish lighting master
Verner Panton. Panton's ambition for Globen was to design a lamp that would draw the eye and unify a room, whether hung alone or in groups. This goal has resulted in an incredibly versatile lamp model with a clear and concise design language that is both simple in design and detailed in interior design, fitting into a myriad of spaces.
With a diameter of 28 cm, the VP Globe 28 Alu Pendant is the smallest lamp in the Globe series. The pendant makes a beautiful piece on its own, but can easily be grouped with the other Globe lamps, which come in several different models with different sizes, colours and materials. This creates an exciting interplay of different sizes and coordinated designs.
The decorative pendant is named after the characteristic Globe shape, which in this version is made of transparent, crystal clear acrylic with five inner reflectors suspended on three steel chains. The colour scheme of transparent and shimmering aluminium is complemented by splashes of red and blue in a beautiful shading that is all the more visible because the colours are used sparingly. When switched on, the bulb illuminates and reflects the inside of the aluminium reflectors, creating indirect lighting that is distributed softly and glare-free throughout the room.
