Cyber Monday originated in the US, where it has become an extension of Black Friday. In the early days, Black Friday only extended to physical shops, but as online retail took off, the time eventually came to translate the physical sales into an online event. Of course, this couldn’t fall on the same day as Black Friday as people were busy taking advantage of the physical sales. Instead, the Monday after Black Friday—or the Monday after Thanksgiving—was renamed Cyber Monday. The day is centred on online deals and dedicated to online retail. Happy shopping!
