Back in 1922, Bernard-Albin GRAS designed a number of lamps that were intended for use in offices and industry. The GRAS lamp, as it was later called, was totally unique with its simple, robust yet highly ergonomic design. The basic shape uses neither screws nor welded joints. In 1927, Ravel bought the patent of La Lampe GRAS and started to produce the lamps.
