Gun Table Table Lamp Gold - Flos

Gun Table in Gold, part of the Gun collection from Flos, first saw the light of day in 2005. Philippe Starck designed an entire collection of table lamps with bases of used guns. The smallest was the “Bedside” lamp, built on a Beretta. The middle was the “Table Gun” lamp, built on an AK-47. The largest was the “Lounge Gun” lamp, built on an M16.
This was a deliberately provocative act intended to focus attention on the illegal weapons trade around the world and the fact that people are in control of weapons and not the other way around. Starck made certain that every detail in the lamps was perfect - the gold coating symbolises the connection between war and money and the small crosses inside the shade symbolises the lives lost to warfare.
