Cirque Pendant ø150 Red Top - Louis Poulsen

The Cirque pendant Ø150 Red Top is one of the four products that resulted from a design briefing by the name of Playful. Amongst these products, Cirque stood out thanks to its interplay between colours and shapes.
The briefing took place in the historic Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen, and the designer drew inspiration from the park’s balloon swings and carousels. The idea behind the colour placements arose from the experience of spinning objects transforming into cohesive stripes in all the colours of the rainbow. The shape itself was inspired by the onion domes on some of the buildings in the park.
The fixture emits a downward-facing soft light that does not blind thanks to its matte white-lacquered underside.
