New Works Kizu Table Lamp & Portable
Stone, light and perfect balanceThe Kizu table lamp from New Works proves that true design classics don't have to be loud. Designed by the Norwegian designer Lars Tornøe, Kizu combines sculptural form with functional light to create a luminaire that is far more than just a light source. Two geometric volumes seem to rest on top of each other in perfect balance: a softly glowing, hemispherical acrylic shade floats seemingly weightlessly above a solid marble base. The result is a fascinating composition of weight and lightness, calm and presence. One of New Works' best-known designs, Kizu blends effortlessly into modern living spaces, creating an atmosphere that is at once warm, minimalist and full of character.

Each lamp is unique
The special effect of the Kizu is created by the interplay of its materials. The base made of natural marble gives the luminaire durability and individuality - each grain is unique and makes each specimen one of a kind. The translucent acrylic shade, on the other hand, provides a soft, glare-free light pattern that illuminates the room evenly and creates a pleasant atmosphere. Available in many different marble finishes and in two sizes, the collection offers different forms of expression for a wide variety of interiors. Whether on a bedside table, sideboard or desk, Kizu always looks like a carefully placed design object that harmonizes light and form.
For even more flexibility, the Kizu Portable adds a wireless version to the collection. With an integrated LED light source, three dimmable brightness levels and a battery life of at least ten hours, it can be positioned anywhere in the room - wherever light is needed. The portable version retains the same sculptural elegance as the original and brings the characteristic balance of marble and light even more into focus. Like many of Lars Tornøe's designs, Kizu combines clear forms with understated sophistication and embodies the essence of Scandinavian design: timeless, functional and of quiet beauty.
The Kizu is one of the most popular New Works luminaires among lamp enthusiasts. Its harmonious interplay of marble, light and form makes it a design object that impressively reflects the high quality and unmistakable signature of New Works.
