Patricia Urquiola let herself be inspired by the East when she sat down to design Tatou F in Aubergine. The strength, flexibility, lightness and resistance of the lamp are all inspired by antique Japanese armour.
This lamp provides a harmonic interplay between light and shadow, helped by the perforated pattern of the shade. The fixture consists of four identical elements bound together as a dome, which creates upward- and downward-facing light, but still allows for the passage of light through the dome itself.
That means that the lamp provides direct downward-facing light without compromising on the diffuse and comfortable glow that is expected of most lamps.
