When the Swedish architect and design duo Broberg & Ridderstråle first start working, it’s mostly with corrugated cardboard. And it’s easy to imagine the duo looking at their early attempts at the Romb lamp and thinking, “Wait a minute.”
Romb 36 Table Lamp Kummin is made of aluminium, but the folded surface brings to mind corrugated cardboard. The two rhombus-shaped squares are minimalist and a nod to the honesty and simplicity of Danish design. The light creates a beautiful uplight, but the downlight is the star of the show as the wavy aluminium casts interesting shadows. Place Romb on a dresser or desk, or give the lamp its own shelf in your bookcase.
