Its fan-shaped structure makes this pendant light something truly special. Whether as a design piece in private homes or as a feature in public halls, restaurants, concert halls and galleries, the PH Artichoke is a real eye-catcher that combines stylish aesthetics and pleasant light like almost no other light fitting.

The PH Artichoke dates back to 1958. The Danish designer, architect, critic, journalist and writer Poul Henningsen designed the pendant light for the Langelinie Pavillon, a restaurant and event venue in Copenhagen, which was being restored and redesigned at the time. Over the years, the manufacturer Louis Poulsen has introduced numerous other variants of the light.

These are characterised by a common design. Seventy-two metal leaves are arranged in twelve rows of six leaves each. The bulb, which is inserted in the centre, is not visible to the observer; its light is reflected between the leaves, illuminating them and flooding the room with indirect, glare-free light.
