Please note that the PH Artichoke has a longer delivery time as it is made to order.
The PH Artichoke Ø84 cm Copper was designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958. He was commissioned to design a pendant light for the Langelinie Pavilion restaurant in Copenhagen, which had to be 100 per cent glare-free. His ingenious solution, featuring 72 leaves arranged in 12 straight rows, ensures completely glare-free light, no matter from which angle it is viewed.
Today, the pendant light is regarded as an icon, popular and well-known throughout the world, and it still adorns the Pavilion in Copenhagen. Due to its striking appearance, the PH Artichoke has also been nicknamed ‘The Cone’.
The light is a superb example of Poul Henningsen’s visionary approach, which prioritises the effect of light on its surroundings and a sense of beautiful aesthetics. Despite its history spanning more than 60 years, the pendant light has lost none of its appeal. With its sculptural appearance and pleasant light – and thanks to the growing interest in Danish classics – the light remains highly relevant in today’s modern interior design.
Today, the light is available in various sizes, ranging from 48 to 84 centimetres in diameter, as well as in a range of colours.
