Wall light 304, red – A striking colour meets an iconic lighting design

The 304 wall light is a 20th-century icon. Its roots date back to 1922, when Bernard-Albin Gras put the first carefully considered sketches to paper. Since then, the range has grown. Originally developed for offices and industrial settings, the series was unique in its simple, robust yet ergonomic design. The basic construction required no screws or welded joints.

The lights in DCW’s Lampe Gras series epitomise the successful fusion of functionalism and aesthetics. Every detail – from the arms and the body right through to the fittings and the assembly of the individual components – bears witness to an exceptionally well-thought-out design that was far ahead of its time. Le Corbusier was fascinated by the modern design of the Lampe Gras lights from an early stage and incorporated them into his projects.

Today, the lights in the Lampe Gras series are sought-after collector’s items worldwide, particularly in France, the USA and Japan. Bernard-Albin Gras’s talented and visionary design has proven itself to be timeless over the decades.
