Lampe Gras 302: Classic design for the ceiling

The Lampe Gras 302 ceiling light is part of a series of lights whose origins date back to 1922. It was then that Bernard-Albin Gras developed the first designs for lights, which were initially intended for offices and industrial settings. The range was characterised by its simple, robust and, at the same time, ergonomic design. The basic construction required no screws or welded joints.

The lights in DCW’s Lampe Gras range embody the fusion of functionalism and aesthetics. The arms, bodies, fittings and the arrangement of the individual components are precisely engineered, lending the range its characteristic, distinctive design language.

Le Corbusier was impressed by the modern design of the Lampe Gras lights from an early stage and incorporated them into his projects. The clean construction and functional approach have contributed to the series retaining its special status in design history to this day.
