Copenhagen SC14 Floor Lamp Opal Glas - &Tradition

Copenhagen SC14 Floor lamp Opal Glass was designed with a strong maritime inspiration, as gas lamps from the capital's harbour facilities strongly influenced the shape. The basic shape was modernised in the process, but the lacquered metal shade that clamps onto the cord with stretched curved metal echoes the historical background.
The starting point was to create a design that would allow the use of different metals, but also for the design to work from a purely sculptural angle with a simple finish. Copenhagen is created with a unique eye for detail and focus on surface texture, combining the classic with the modern in a unique way.
It's no secret that Space Copenhagen has extensive experience as interior designers, and this is visible in the care that has gone into the design. The flexibility that is built into the lamp and the attention to detail is almost overwhelming. Even the amount of light coming out of the floor lamp was carefully planned from the start. The lampshade is largest in the centre and narrows at the top and bottom, which adds volume and weight while protecting the viewer from looking directly into the light source.
