The lamp was designed for ten offices and considered incredibly unique, thanks to its simple and robust, yet ergonomic design. The central lamp body uses neither screws nor welds.

The functional aesthetic of the 302 is undeniable and the design of components like its arms, body, brackets and joining points is incredibly original, not to mention ahead of its time. Le Corbusier fell for the modern design of Lampe Gras and started using the lamps for his projects early on.
